Till we meet again Oprah!

On the 25th May 2011 ( in America) & aired here in Australia yesterday night 27th May 2011, Oprah closes her last show after 25 years. Although I do not religiously watch every single one of her shows, I have been a constant fan of hers. I know she has contributed a lot to humanity. A wonderful person.

Her last show was focussed on telling us, her viewers, about how important we all are. Not only to her but more importantly to yourselves & our circle of influence. The people we meet & are with daily. And each one of us is put on this earth to do something. Each one of us has our own calling.

Some of her own words from her last show:

"What I knew for sure from this experience with you is that we are all called. Everybody has a calling, and your real job in life is to figure out what that is and get about the business of doing it."

"It lights you up and it lets you know that you are exactly where you're supposed to be, doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing. And that is what I want for all of you and hope that you will take from this show. To live from the heart of yourself. You have to make a living; I understand that. But you also have to know what sparks the light in you so that you, in your own way, can illuminate the world."

"My great wish for all of you who have allowed me to honor my calling through this show is that you carry whatever you're supposed to be doing, carry that forward and don't waste any more time. Start embracing the life that is calling you and use your life to serve the world."

"Nobody but you is responsible for your life. It doesn't matter what your mama did; it doesn't matter what your daddy didn't do. You are responsible for your life. ... You are responsible for the energy that you create for yourself, and you're responsible for the energy that you bring to others"

"What I got was we often block our own blessings because we don't feel inherently good enough or smart enough or pretty enough or worthy enough."
"the show has taught me you're worthy because you are born and because you are here. Your being here, your being alive makes worthiness your birthright. You alone are enough."

"People often ask me, What is the secret of success of the show? How have we lasted 25 years? I nonjokingly say, 'My team and Jesus.'

"I have felt the presence of God my whole life. Even when I didn't have a name for it, I could feel the voice bigger than myself speaking to me, and all of us have that same voice."

"The only time I've ever made mistakes is when I didn't listen. So what I know is, God is love and God is life, and your life is always speaking to you."
"First in whispers. ... It's subtle, those whispers. And if you don't pay attention to the whispers, it gets louder and louder."

"You don't pay attention to that, the whole brick wall falls down. That's the pattern I've seen in my life, and it's played out over and over again on this show. "

"I thank each of you for allowing me to speak in such a way that, no matter what was happening in your life, you could see the best of your selves. For everything there is a season, we know, and our time together on this platform is coming to a close. In a few moments when the final credits roll, I see it not as an ending, but as an extraordinary beginning. One chapter closed. The next chapter beginning for all of us."

"I won't say goodbye. I'll just say...until we meet again.(and to God be the Glory)"

One beautiful day in paradise!

It’s such a beautiful day yesterday! Sunny, clear blue skies, 24 degrees. Ah!
I thought I’d take my new heels for a test run or shall I say a "test walk".

Armed with my new purple heels, I was off to tackle the main agenda of the day. That was to go & see 2 art exhibitions.

My friend & artist Susan Allwood will be exhibiting some of her work alongside other printmakers in the Western Australian Printmedia Awards 2011 by Printmakers Association of WA at Moores Building in Fremantle.Link

The other is at Atwell Art Gallery exhibiting the Alfred Cove Art Society's 12th Annual Awards of Excellence Exhibition.

Anyone who knows me know that I am not a big fan of heels. Most heels I call them a '2 hour shoe' as usually they will probably just last at the most 2 hours on my feet. So I’d want to see how long these new ones will last. Will they break my '2 hour shoe' tag on heels? Well, one thing is for sure, these ones fit like a glove!

So after about 2 hours of strolling down the park in Freo; soaking in the beautiful sunshine and some creativity at the exhibitions, the verdict folks, sadly, my new heels are still in my '2 hours shoe' category ;)

However, it was a good day out!

PS: looks like today will be a beautiful day too! :)

Christ the Crusader (White & Black Rosary)

Name: "Christ the Crusader" White & Black Rosary
A new addition to my rosary design collection.

"When her only son sacrifies his life for the good of humanity, being a mother, she must have been so proud yet feels the pain & sorrow her son had to go through." I think that just sums up the meaning of this rosary.

I've used Jet Black 6mm Swarovski Crystals for The "Our Father" beads and 6mm white glass beads for the 'Hail Mary' decades.

The Crucifix (This Crusader-style crucifix is 1-3/4 in. (4.5 cm) in height, silver oxidized, made in Italy, nicely detailed.)

The centre piece is small, but a beautiful center piece features an image of the Sorrowful Mother at the front and the Ecce Homo at the back and is 1/2"(1.4cm) in height. It is silver oxidized and imported from Italy.

This rosary can be purchased from my online store. Go to :http://www.etsy.com/listing/74326683/rosary-christ-the-crusader-white-black

Join my facebook "Gifted Moments" page (click"Like" for updates on promotions & to be eligible for 10% off all of my online products when there's no other promotion!)

MORE PHOTOS of this piece can be found in my facebook "Gifted Moments" page & my online store. More rosary prayer beads to come...

Busy as a BEE!

Let me first say that I must apologise to all the followers of this blog as I have been pretty silent this month of May...yes I am still alive....I have been so behind in updating my blog & while I do have so much I want to blog about & they are all lining up in my head busting for me to type them all in my blog!
SO MUCH TO BLOG ABOUT , SO LITTLE TIME!
From stuff from my recent jewelry designs inspirations from The Royal Wedding; to more new jewelry and rosaries I have made; to many on-hold project designs waiting for me to bring them to life; to my recent trip to Sydney; my husband's & housemates' cooking; and my house hunting adventures...
Oh yes, speaking of house hunting, I will be focusing on having that a priority as we have decided it is time for us ( Hubby & I ) to have a house of our own. YAY!
So folks I shall endeavour in the midst of my house hunt to fit them all in soonest possible (So help me God!)
till the next blog... take care
Elaine
